ResearchAgent Launches New Research Management Line with Free Licenses of ResearchAgent Trace
ResearchAgent today unveiled the next phase in its plan to streamline management of online information. The latest innovation, a browser plug-in called ResearchAgent Trace, permanently captures interactive research trails both for archival purposes and for collaboration. "So much of the web is here today and gone tomorrow," says company founder Kirk Fackre. "While a number of products let you snip and save bits of the web, there is nothing else we know of that permanently archives a research session in realtime, wherever that trail might lead."
ResearchAgent Trace showcases patent-pending technology which automatically streams interactive web content into a private cache. Unlike a browser's cache, content is organized into logical "research trails" and includes information input by the user into web forms. A simple example might involve a web search, in which ResearchAgent Trace captures and associates search criteria along with the results. As the researcher refines the search and begins to collect meaningful information, the entire process is archived, and can be played back at any time. Each research trail is saved to a knowledge base
of completed work product, which can be drawn upon both as an archival record and as a foundation for related research.
To help get the message out, ResearchAgent is distributing the 1.0 release for free, through the end of March. "We'd like to see as many people as possible take advantage of the free download and tell us what they think" says Fackre. "We'll use this feedback to continue enhancing a simple, streamlined product, rich in features that people actually use."
