ResearchAgent Incorporates to Meet Growing Demand for Research Management Products

Boston, MA - Missiontrek today announced the formation of a new business unit called ResearchAgent Corporation, which will focus on the rapidly growing market for research management and cost recovery. Missiontrek veterans Kirk Fackre and Robert Nelson are heading up the new venture, and Diane Conde, former Operations Director at Equitrac Corporation, will serve as Chief Operating Officer. The new company plans to announce the release of ResearchAgent 3.0 in the coming weeks, and already has a long list of law firms waiting for a first look at the new version.

ResearchAgent 2.0 was first introduced by Missiontrek at AALL in July 2002. Version 3.0 builds on the original idea while providing numerous new features suggested by early users. The latest enhancements include a full-text search option for client name and matter descriptions, and a configuration wizard that lets system administrators define the ResearchAgent environment for their unique situation.

According to Mr. Fackre, the decision to incorporate ResearchAgent as a separate company demonstrates a continuing commitment to today's information professionals: "Our clients are equal partners in ResearchAgent's past, present and future. We collaborated with two law firms in the design phase, which was invaluable in getting the idea right from the beginning. Then, our betas stuck with us through a development process that was at times difficult. Now we are able to provide today's firm's with the highest quality research management software available."

ResearchAgent consists of two programs that can be deployed separately, or together: ResearchAgent Auditor silently monitors a user-definable list of websites. Firms use this information to make informed choices about Web-based subscription services. ResearchAgent Professional provides active cost-recovery, prompting users for valid billing codes when accessing selected "recoverable" on-line services.

Whether firms are seeking internal expense management or active cost recovery, all research data is centrally stored for reporting and statistical analysis. ResearchAgent can also integrate with a firm's Time and Billing system, providing seamless, automated cost recovery of all research expenses.

ResearchAgent 3.0 can be previewed on-line beginning next week. To schedule a demonstration, please call 888-781-0711.
